Most moving complaints in Nashville come down to one thing: the bill at the end did not match the number at the start. This page explains exactly how TNT Moving USA prices a move, what is included, and how we confirm your final price before the truck shows up.
Our Two Ways to Price a Nashville Move
Every local move is priced one of two ways. You pick the one that fits your move, and we put it in writing.
1. Hourly rate, crew and truck included
| Crew | Rate | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 2 movers + 26-ft truck | $250 per hour | Apartments, condos, smaller homes |
| 3 movers + 26-ft truck | $350 per hour | Larger homes, high-rise units, heavy furniture |
The hourly rate is full service. Furniture pads, shrink wrap and dollies come with the crew, not as add-ons.
2. Flat rate, one price for the whole job
| Home size | Typical crew | Flat rate starting at |
|---|---|---|
| Studio or 1 bedroom | 2 movers | $350 |
| 2 to 3 bedrooms | 3 movers | $550 |
| 4+ bedrooms | 4 movers | $850 |
| Long distance within Tennessee | Crew + truck, door to door | $2,500 |
A flat rate is quoted after we talk with you and see what is moving. Once it is agreed, the number does not grow because traffic was bad or the elevator was slow.
What Is Always Included on Local Moves
- No charge for one flight of stairs
- No charge for elevators
- No charge for travel time
- No fuel surcharge
- No tax added on local moves
- Floor runners, door-jamb pads and corner guards in your home
- Furniture wrapping and padding
Why We Do Not Post a Minimum or a Packing-Only Price
You will not find a “3-hour minimum” or a flat packing price on this site, and that is on purpose. Those numbers are almost never right for a real move. A one-bedroom in Green Hills with a piano and a third-floor walk-up is a different job from a one-bedroom with an elevator in The Gulch. Publishing a minimum we would have to change later is exactly the kind of surprise we want to avoid.
Instead, your exact price is confirmed in a quick call or walkthrough before moving day.
How Your Final Price Gets Confirmed
- Call or book online. Tell us your addresses, home size and move date.
- Walkthrough. In person or by video, we look at what is moving, the stairs, parking and any heavy or fragile items.
- Written price. You get the hourly rate and crew size, or a flat rate, in writing.
- Moving day. The crew works to that written scope. If you add items on the day, we tell you the cost before we load them.
What Can Change the Price, Said Up Front
Honest pricing means naming the things that add time. These are the ones that matter most in Nashville:
- Extra flights of stairs beyond the first
- Long carries from the truck to your door, common at downtown high-rises and gated communities in Brentwood and Franklin
- Pianos, gun safes and other items over 300 pounds
- Full packing of your home, which we quote with the walkthrough
- Items you add on moving day that were not in the walkthrough
None of these show up as a surprise line on your bill. If any apply, they are part of the price you approve before the move.
Long-Distance Moves Within Tennessee
For moves from Nashville to Knoxville, Chattanooga, Memphis, Jackson or anywhere else in Tennessee, we quote door to door. Long-distance moves start at $2,500, and the final number depends on the size of your home and the distance.
Available 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week
Lease ending tonight, closing moved up, or a move that has to happen after work? We answer the phone around the clock and schedule early-morning, late-night and weekend moves at the same rates.
How to Get the Most Accurate Quote
The more we know before moving day, the closer your quote is to your final bill. When you call or book a walkthrough, have these details ready:
- Pickup and delivery addresses, including apartment or unit numbers and any gate codes
- Floor numbers, elevator access, and whether either building requires an elevator reservation or a certificate of insurance
- How close the truck can park to each door, especially downtown, in Midtown and in The Gulch
- Large or fragile items such as pianos, safes, artwork, mirrors, glass tabletops and antiques
- Whether you want us to pack, or you will have everything boxed before the crew arrives
- Your move date, plus a backup date if your closing or lease end is still changing
A video walkthrough from your phone works for most homes, so you do not have to wait for an in-person visit to get a firm price. Either way, the walkthrough happens before your price is final.
